Role overview
The Kenyon Review invites applications for a two-year residential post-graduate fellowship in creative writing beginning in August 2027. During these two years, fellows will undertake a significant writing project and teach one course per semester in the Kenyon College English Department, contingent upon departmental needs. Fellows will also assist with creative and editorial projects for The Kenyon Review.
Fellows are required to live in the local community and are expected to participate in the cultural life of Kenyon College. Fellows are to hold no other teaching, graduate study, or fellowship obligations.
Qualifications
- MFA in creative writing, or a PhD in creative writing, English literature, or comparative literature.
- The degree must be completed between January 1, 2021, and September 15, 2026.
- Teaching experience in creative writing and/or literature at the undergraduate level.
- A history of publication in literary journals.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual $50,000 stipend.

- Complimentary AWP Membership, registration fees, and travel reimbursement to represent The Kenyon Review at the 2028 and 2029 AWP Conference and Bookfair.
- Eligibility to apply for travel and research grants through Kenyon College's Department of English and Creative Writing.
- $1500 funding per year for professional development.

- A one-page course proposal for an undergraduate introductory-level multi-genre creative writing class.
