As a Software Development Engineer, you will research, define, design, and refine the technology that keeps us one step ahead of listeners. You will anticipate, innovate, and bring challenging ideas. We will support you with the latest tech, tools, and systems needed to succeed. You will be essential in ensuring the team can reach their potential by working closely with them, reviewing their work, mentoring, and supporting their development. Audible’s Creator Marketplace customers are talented storytellers, voice actors, producers, publishers, and our internal content teams. What you'll do

  • Design, develop, and test software components and applications for one of the largest creators and providers of audiobooks in the world.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to imagine, design, develop, test, and launch software that impacts our customers and inspires your peers.
  • Be proficient in a broad range of data structures and algorithms, knowing when it is (and isn’t) appropriate to use them.
  • Independently clarify technical requirements, assess development estimates, and apply a broad range of design approaches.
  • Review code of other team members and provide constructive direction.
  • Mentor and lead developers by cultivating curiosity and deep technical understanding.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
