Job Description

Role overview

Tyndale Alliances is a small, close-knit team that brings the publishing products of our partners NavPress and Focus on the Family — along with Tyndale's own Rose Publishing imprint — to the readers who need them, across books, Bibles, Bible studies, pamphlets, and children's resources. We're collaborative, fast-moving, and ready to train, support, and encourage the right person. As the Publishing Assistant, you'll work across both the Alliances and Rose teams and act as the connective tissue that keeps every title moving — coordinating across production, marketing, and administration so new and repackaged products launch on schedule and nothing falls through the cracks.

If you're highly organized, genuinely enjoy juggling details for people you care about, and want your work to carry life-transforming Christian messages further into the world, this role was built for you.

What you'll do

  • Keep the seasonal publishing schedule on track — across all three publishing seasons, prompt internal teams and partners for the materials and files each title needs, track what's outstanding, and flag deadline risks early so nothing slips.
  • Coordinate product content and copy — enter new and repackaged product information in the production system, upload author bios, photos, and copyright details, and write and route back-cover copy, endorsements, and product descriptions, including a growing volume of work for Rose Publishing.
  • Arm the Sales team for successful launches — coordinate seasonal sales conference materials, build partner-facing schedules, proof fact and sales sheets for accuracy, and manage Advanced Reader Copies (ARCs).
  • Prepare marketing content for hand-off — populate internal content systems, readying marketing elements for our partners and the Alliances and Rose marketers.
  • Be the relational hub for partners and internal teams — PR, sales, commercial design, and video/audio production — initiating clear, timely communication and building the rapport that keeps requests moving.
  • Run the administrative engine — manage contracts, expense reimbursements, and author payments; maintain mailing, contact, and author databases; place and track orders and mailings; complete monthly and ad-hoc sales, inventory, and licensing reports; and support meetings, hospitality, and author visits, including on-site support when colleagues and partners are in the office.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of administrative or coordination experience managing details and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment — internships, on-campus roles, or other comparable experience count; publishing industry experience a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with a customer or contact database a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent relational instincts
  • Detail-oriented, dependable, and highly organized, with the ability to prioritize and execute multiple concurrent projects
  • A diplomatic problem-solver and collaborative team player who shows genuine care for coworkers and partners
  • Self-driven and motivated by producing products that carry life-transforming Christian messages
  • Able to travel occasionally (less than 10%)
  • Written Spanish language skills a plus
  • Personal alignment with and adherence to the Bible as God's Word, and agreement with our Statement of Faith

Application Information

  • After an initial training period, this role is open to a hybrid work schedule, which means you'll be given the flexibility to split time between working from home and in the office, with work-from-home days generally on Tuesdays and Fridays.
  • We want to hear more about you and why you are interested in Tyndale and this role, so we highly recommend including a cover letter.
