Role overview

This Part Time Book Store Clerk position involves providing excellent customer service and maintaining the bookstore's operations. You will be responsible for stocking shelves, assisting customers, and handling transactions. The role requires working in a non-climatically controlled environment and standing/walking for extended periods.

Responsibilities

Restock shelves
Service customers face to face
Operate cash register
Operate credit card machine
Operate basic warehouse equipment, e.g., pallet jack, tape gun
Sort books and place in appropriate location(s)
Fulfill donations
Prep work for community events
Adheres to facility hours to include overtime and weekends during holidays and special events (floating hours may vary each week)
Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old
Excellent communication skills and customer relation skills
Literacy and math skills
Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated
Excellent organizational skills
Must be able to work in a team atmosphere and maintain a positive attitude
Excellent attendance record
Must be able to work safely around moving equipment
Work in a non-climatically controlled environment throughout the year
Must be able to stand/walk on concrete floors for entire shift

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
