Role overview

The St. Paul Center for Biblical Theology, a mission-driven organization dedicated to bringing the transformative power of Sacred Scripture to clergy, scholars, and laity, is expanding its digital content production. With a new state-of-the-art studio in Steubenville, Ohio, the Center is producing premier online short courses, Bible studies, podcasts, and high-quality educational content.

This role will lead the scripting and editing of all digital content and manage theologian presenters in preparing their material for new course content. Reporting to the Director of Content and Production, you will be responsible for leading the development of scripted, theological content for courses, from discussion guides to content scripts. You will manage numerous theologian presenters through the development of new course content prior to recording in the studio.

Responsibilities

  • Lead scripting and editing for internal productions, serving as the consistent voice of St. Paul Center Content.
  • Develop content strategy into production-ready scripts for flagship Bible Studies, internally developed courses, and seasonal Advent and Lent materials.
  • Coordinate contractors and junior copywriters in the development of supplemental materials.
  • Train, develop, and coordinate external contractors and student workers on specific tasks, such as study guides for courses.
  • Define the process and format for external speakers to draft great course materials and guide speakers through it, ensuring timely and on-target delivery.
  • Build a process and defined templates to ensure new speakers deliver on time with a script that is ready to use.
  • Act as the liaison between the St. Paul Center and contracted theologian presenters, guiding them through the process while building relationships.
  • Represent the needs of members by ensuring content is theologically faithful, spiritually enriching, and beautifully engaging.
  • Conduct regular research to understand user content and course preferences and use insights to guide content planning decisions.
  • Partner with the Director of Production to lead research and learning into content and topic trends.
  • Ensure materials are edifying, spiritually enriching, and engaging for the viewer.

Qualifications

  • A practicing Catholic on fire for their faith and with a love of Scripture.
  • A college degree with a focus in theology, Scripture & Catechetics, or writing & editing.
  • An advanced degree (e.g., MA Theology or PhD) is preferred.
  • Strong writing and editing skills; a writing sample will be required of qualified candidates.
  • Highly organized and collaborative, able to build processes and procedures and lead others to adhere to them.
  • Experience working with presenters, scholars, or subject matter experts.
