Role overview

W. W. Norton is seeking interns to participate in our twelve-week internship program. This program provides participants with an engaging, supportive, and hands-on learning experience in publishing, including educational lunch sessions and networking opportunities within the intern class.

If you become a Norton intern with the High School team, your work may include

  • Researching market data and presenting findings
  • Maintaining and updating contact lists in Salesforce by adding contacts or converting leads
  • Maintaining and updating account information in Salesforce
  • Assisting with sales data maintenance and reports, providing key, organized data for the entire high school team
  • Researching and drafting social media posts
  • Weekly progress check-ins with the intern manager

Qualifications

We are excited to add interns who bring diverse perspectives to Norton. The ideal candidate is curious, hardworking, and eager to learn more about the different facets of publishing. We look for candidates who:

  • Are a college junior, senior, recent graduate, or someone looking to make a career change
  • Are eager to improve their verbal and written communication skills
  • Enjoy collaborating and working in a group to solve challenges
  • Have a passion for learning and ideas
  • Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Compensation and Benefits

  • Paid at $17 per hour, subject to applicable law
  • Maximum of 20 hours weekly

Internship details

  • Internship period: Twelve weeks from 9/14/2026 to 12/4/2026
  • Workday: 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Eastern Time; specific work hours are flexible to accommodate an intern’s schedule
  • Location: In-person in our Manhattan offices for interns residing within commuting distance; remote for those in other locations
  • Eligibility to work with W.W. Norton & Company in the US is required
