Role overview

MPS, a division of Macmillan Publishers, is seeking a General Warehouse - Receiving Material Handler for their Gordonsville, Virginia facility. MPS provides back-office support, warehousing, and fulfillment for Macmillan US, serving as their primary distribution facility for North America.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize WMS to look up locations and retrieve order status information.
  • Remove shrink-wrap from pallets in preparation for storage.
  • Sort books and break down assortments.
  • Load the induction line.
  • Operate the Cubi-Scan to determine the dimension size (length, width, height, weight) of books and cartons.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
  • Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety.
  • Enforce established safety, health, and housekeeping policies and procedures to minimize injuries, loss of production time, and damage.
  • Conform to all company policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Comply with all environmental, health, and safety requirements.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Hourly Rate: $17.2800 to $17.9800
  • $1,000 Retention Bonus (after 1 year)
