I am branching out my writing services to include penning eulogies and obituaries. These will be both quick turn-around orders as well as those written before a person passes away.
Due to the possibility that I could be inundated with requests for this work, as I am casting a wide advertising net, I am building a list of freelancers who would be interested in writing these pieces as well as the possibility for other assignments.
Application Information
- To discuss working together, forward two writing samples and/or a link to your profile, plus a cover letter detailing your interest, availability, and what kind of freelance opportunities you prefer, to lowermillstream@gmail.com
- Include your writing selections in the body of the email, not as an attachment
- You are welcome to pen a sample obituary/eulogy to demonstrate your talent in this writing niche
- Put 'Freelance Writer Application' in the subject line
- All applicants will get a personal response
- Due to the presence of so many bots, before you are given any work, we will engage via a video or voice call
- Your information will never be sold or used for any other purpose than to communicate in regards to your writing
Requirements
- You must be willing to relinquish copyright to these pieces to the purchaser
- Other assignments may or may not be credited to you depending on the client; this is often described as 'ghost written' content
- Must be proficient in MS Word
- All assignments will be written in English
- If you are proficient in writing in another language, please mention this in your cover letter as translation services may occasionally be needed
- Absolutely no AI assisted writing
- If it is detected that you are using AI to write your assignments and/or if your piece has been plagiarized, any contracts will be null/void and you will not receive further freelance work
- All submissions are run through a plagiarism checker
Compensation and Benefits
- Payment will range from $50 for a simple obituary to $250+ for longer pieces
- Articles and other writing assignments have varying pay rates, but compensation will always be discussed in advance and agreed upon in a contract
- Instead of being laden with legalese, my contracts with freelancers are straightforward, including pay rate and payment information, guidelines, specific parameters, and a clear outline of the project
- These writing opportunities are for an incorporated company
- You are welcome to apply from any geographic location as long as you can accept an eTransfer or PayPal to be paid for your work
