Role overview
W. W. Norton is seeking interns to participate in our twelve-week internship program. This program provides participants with an engaging, supportive, and hands-on learning experience in publishing, including educational lunch sessions and networking opportunities within the intern class.
Responsibilities
- Research college course markets for 2026 sampling outreach for Norton and client publishers
- Compile and verify contact lists using Excel
- Update leads and create opportunities in Salesforce
- Draft newsletters and email copy for outreach and academic promotion
- Maintain inboxes, lists, and databases of key information for communicating between trade and college departments
- Monitor administrative tasks while keeping track of timelines
- Brainstorm and plan future content and projects
- Assist with 2026-2027 academic conference planning and research
- Support academic webinars in partnership with college marketing teams
Qualifications
- You enjoy the data and market research sides of marketing
- You are adaptable to the changing priorities of a new and growing department
- You are a college junior, senior, recent graduate, or someone looking to make a career change
- You are eager to improve your verbal and written communication skills
- You enjoy collaborating and working in a group to solve challenges
- You have a passion for learning and ideas
- You have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Compensation and Benefits
- Paid at $17 per hour, subject to applicable law
- Maximum of 20 hours weekly
Internship details
- Internship period is twelve weeks from 9/14/2026 to 12/4/2026
- Workday is 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Eastern Time; specific work hours are flexible to accommodate an intern’s schedule
- For interns who reside within commuting distance of the office, this internship will be in-person in our Manhattan offices; those in other locations will work remotely
- Eligibility to work with W.W. Norton & Company in the US is required
